Corruption Perceptions Index 2023. Asia Pacific. We see a representation of the globe focused on the region. The top scorers are New Zealand, Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong. The bottom of the index includes fragile states with authoritarian regimes, including North Korea (17) and Myanmar (20), with the latter dropping a staggering 10 points since 2017. Afghanistan (20) continues to face one of the worst humanitarian crises in history.

The Corruption Perceptions Index paints a sobering picture for Asia Pacific, with little progress in curbing corruption. As we gear up for major elections in the region it's crucial for elected officials to deliver on anti-corruption agendas.
