Tanggal ini dipilih untuk mengenang kehidupan sosok yang dengan penuh keberanian, Uskup Agung Oscar Arnulfo Romero yang melawan pelanggaran HAM di El Salvador. Ia tewas dibunuh pada 24 Maret 1980 silam. Kejahatan kemanusiaan yang penuntasannya ditelantarkan Negara akan menghadirkan kondisi serba tidak pasti. Contoh dampak paling buruk terjadi di Indonesia ini. Sosok yang secara posisi menduduki jabatan penting atas tim yang terbukti menculik rakyat di 1997 - 1998 justru bisa menjadi Presiden lewat Pemilu di 2024. Indonesia juga pernah punya pengalaman adanya regulasi yang mengatur Komisi Kebenaran & Rekonsiliasi (KKR).
