Humans don’t exactly have eagle vision, so here’s a close-up to give you another chance to find me. I still wonder if I’m the right size to be a god, although I already nailed the attitude.
Would humans worship a #small god? I’ll ask my master Satan and get back to you. 🫨

Slightly cloudy, but beautiful, #sunset in the Tagus.

The poetry of decadence
Cais do Ginjal - Ginjal Peer, Almada
For a few years I incessantly photographed the route between Cacilhas and Jardim do Rio, in a wonderful discovery of Cais do Ginjal, its life and those who passed by, strolled and savoured the proximity and complicity of the Tagus, the gentle caress of the riverside breeze, the warmth of the evening sun and the magic of a space that was already decadent, but free and welcoming in its unique poetry.
In March of this year, 2025, I decided to return to Ginjal and visually (re)document this magnificent space, already aware of its marked degradation.
I confess that, after months of absence, I was sadly surprised by the obvious and enormous decay and dangerous condition of the pier along its length, like a living structure approaching its final end, left to its own devices, abandoned in the throes of its history and the indifference of the powers that be. Exactly the antithesis of all those who still continued to enjoy the pier, strolling, running, dating, fishing, despite the imminent risk of collapse.
On April 3 of this year, passage through Cais do Ginjal was closed to the east and west. Old buildings had already been demolished.
Whatever Ginjal may be, it may be an open space for people to stay and enjoy, in full harmony with the river and Almada, with free passage and pedestrian circulation, prioritizing and defending the common heritage and well-being.
As for me, I intend to return to Ginjal. This, which is no longer there, and what will be.
