Breaking radio silence.
Still working.
Road placement tool is coming together.

One of the many inspirations behind the game is just around the corner. A cave. Even better if water flows through.

A fine place to take a break.

Hidden underground.
Carved stone where the cave should have ended.

Collecting what I love collecting most. Textures!

A quiet village morning. Dirt underfoot, smoke from a hearth, the old well still doing its job.

📜 Character lore: Sam Morden
Born under ill omens and raised by a priest, Sam grew into a quick-witted rogue with luck clinging to his heels. A charmer and gambler with trouble never far behind, he lives for the moment and never looks back.

Betrayal at Krondor left a bigger mark on me than most games.
Big enough that Saregnar owes its existence to it.

New year, new work.
Starting on a proper road-placement tool.
#CallOfSaregnar
Back to work. Plenty to do.

Happy New Year!
Thanks to everyone following Saregnar, and especially to the patrons who help keep this work moving forward. More to come, slowly and properly.

I want the world to feel like it exists whether the player is there or not.

There was comfort in seeing the lamps lit for the night.

This is why I look down a lot.

There’s still a lot to do, but the foundations are solid now. That makes everything else easier.

Wishing you a few calm days, decent food, and some time away from screens. Happy holidays.

Evening settles over Avanmoor.

Most terrain tiles are now renamed and cleaned up. Roads are next.
I added the first terrain overlay as well – a simple farmable field. It’s the basis for how roads will work too, with skirts, free rotation, and faster level building.

📜 Character lore: Hewan Teomar
Youngest son of a noble house, Hewan chose forests and quiet study over titles and courtly games. Gifted in magic and guided by the gods, he seeks understanding over power.

I’m not building Saregnar to be fast.
It’s meant to be explored at your own pace, with time to notice things.
#CallOfSaregnar
Saregnar is coming together slowly because people supported it early and gave me the time to build it properly.

Not every path is marked.
Some you only spot if you stop and look.

I have been working on several parts of the game this month, and a chunk of that time went into reviewing the ongoing UI overhaul.
Here is a small teaser of the updated direction.
Full breakdown for patrons on December 27.

Same location, two eras.
The 2018 shot has real “Lo-Fi demake” potential, not gonna lie.

If I could live in a fantasy inn, it would be the Yew Tree Inn.
