Tuesday #ChimneyPot Type of the Week: Octagonal Diagonal Twist
Not to be confused with Octagonal Diagonal Captain, which has crenellated castle-like tops. These seen in #Weymouth May 2023 towards Greenhill Gardens, Christ Church spire to the left. #Chimneys #ChimneyPots #Caminology
I dropped into Cherished #Chimneys in #StokeonTrent for the first time. The #ChimneyPot #Museum isn’t happening *at the moment* but there was some looking to the future. Hopefully I’ll be able to offer some exciting news on what is, I think, a globally unique collection #ThePotteries #Caminology
#ChimneyPot type of the week: H Pot.
This week’s the H Pot, seen last week in #Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, not far from the hospital. From what I’ve noticed, these come with a variety of lengths and girths in the connecting central vent.

My favourite #chimneypots - only realised they were done as symmetrical #dragons with the centre pots as their heads, and external pots as the end of the body, terminating in a tail. Never seen any pots like these anywhere. And so few will ever notice or appreciate them. #Caminology #Stroud
When you get a third floor hotel room (fourth outside UK!) and can look straight along the rooftops of Edwardian and Victorian #seafront terraces. In #Weymouth. This has been an enjoyable photo to pinch in on. #ChimneyPots #Caminology
One for #aerial lovers, too! Double Decker bus journey up top, stopped at traffic lights. East from #Gloucester Station. The barren stacks on the end gable make for a poignant contrast with the hordes of pots behind. Ghost of chimney stacks future paying a visit? 🤔 #Caminology #ChimneyPots
A good location for dedicated #chimneypots spotting are the tops of multi storey car parks. Good session around #Liverpool centre last weekend. These are a small sample of the shots I took there. #Caminology #Roofscapes
Ebley House, #Ebley, #Stroud. Couldn’t ignore these with the sun casting these shadows. Beautiful #Ashlar #ChimneyStacks #Chimneys #ChimneyPots #Caminology
Even in the depths of #Birmingham #NewStreet, get to the end of platform 11 and there are a few #chimneypots to be seen, get a camera with a good zoom. #Chimneys #Caminology
