Oh, CINAHL. Thanks for blocking my account. Just a suggestion, but maybe the reason I need to download lots of records is because I do systematic reviews? #medlibs #canmedlibs

Tip #58: Exporting a Random Set of Citations from Ovid Databases to Avoid Bias

I have used many of the tips on this blog. Today, I used the instructions (and tool mentioned) in this post (uxcaucustips.blogspot.com/2025/04/tip-...) to generate two sets of records from a draft Ovid Medline search, so the research team can do some sampling. #MLAUXCaucus #MedLibs #CanMedLibs

If you ever tried to describe the process of finding conference proceedings, people would think you’d lost it. Which would be fair. We’re told to include them - that’s the guidance, but finding them is 😖😱! blog by Chris Cooper & Zahra Premji www.thesearcheruk.com/blog/reformi... #MedLibs #CanMedLibs

How a 1st year resident in St John's helped solve a medical mystery, and didn't stop there | CBC News Ian Gillies Jr. had spent a month in hospital, slowly getting sicker and sicker. Just as doctors warned the family he might not make it through the night, a "saviour arrived," says his dad.

And of course, special thanks to the #canmedlibs at Memorial who provided all those journal articles WITHOUT CREDIT AS USUAL www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

A screenshot from Embase on Ovid shows an article given the subject heading *mechanical cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This is also listed as a 'candidate term'.

A screenshot from Embase on Ovid shows an article given the subject heading *mechanical cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This is also listed as a 'candidate term'.

Clicking on the link (and removing focus) reveals 22 articles given this subject heading, which seemingly doesn't exist in the Embase thesaurus. Best guess is that Embase is allowing (authors? editors?) to recommend terms, but why are these listed as subject headings and not only under the suggested ones?

#medlibs #canmedlibs Calling all Embase users (esp on Ovid). Anyone know what's up with subject headings that seemingly don't exist? I was demonstrating how you can use an indexed article for finding additional terms and clicked on the link for mechanical cpr, which brought me 22 new articles.
