🌎 Carunculated caracara (Phalcoboenus carunculatus) 

The carunculated caracara is a striking raptor found in the high Andes of Ecuador and Colombia. Adults display a glossy black plumage with bold white streaks on their breast, a white rump, and a distinctive bright orange-red facial skin. They inhabit open areas like páramo and farmland, often seen walking on the ground. These birds are opportunistic, feeding on insects, small vertebrates, carrion, and even vegetable matter.
