Make polluters pay for the damage they inflict. Pretty soon polluters realize that they could make more money by NOT polluting.

Let's be specific. #fossilfuels are permitted to fully externalize the costs of climate change; if we end that by a #carbonfeeanddividend it will accelerate the transition to clean energy. We are not going to eliminate capitalism but must tweak it.
The markets as currently structured permit fossil fuels to fully externalize the costs of climate change to all our grandchildren, in the same way that tobacco does not pay your lung cancer bills. #carbonfeeanddividend would change this without burdening the poor and powerless.
