This is our sorting area in one of our stores. Very useful for reviewing new collections, sorting items before you catalogue them and storing some of the collections being worked on by our volunteers. #CataloguingCollections #Archive30
Three men in dark greatcoats and motorcycle helmets, with goggles hanging round their necks, stand around a bare-headed woman in a warm-looking coat, possibly in astrakhan.
Rather aptly our #CataloguingCollections this week has included this photograph of Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space, with her Met Special Escort Group outriders. Both she and the Queen were pregnant when they met during the cosmonaut's UK visit in Feb 1964. #Archive30 #ArtemisII

From the Processing Archivist: To augment the “Americans and the Holocaust” exhibit I processed collections related to Nebraskans in WW II, including one based on a digital student project titled “Retracing Old Lines”. These letters came in mostly processed! #CataloguingCollections #Archive30
We always want to spend more time #CataloguingCollections but we've still published descriptions online for over 14000 records, files, books, periodicals, photographs and other material in the last 12 months. Thank you so much to our amazing Cataloguing Volunteers for their help!

Our collections are catalogued depending on the project and the funders and all with passion and knowledge. We have great researchers on our team, including Evan here (in his happy place at a Steenbeck machine).
When it comes to #CataloguingCollections, not all items are the same! 👗📜 The way we list garments differs from regular documents or photos. Find out more on our blog: buff.ly/BnOcOHH Festive Winter Robe, Uzbekistan. #Archive30 @arascot.bsky.social @librarydmu.bsky.socia #textiles #FashionFriday
