For the colouration, the tail stripes are informed by the actual fossil, but overall I primaily took the colours from the Zoo Tycoon caudipteryx. Which is oddly enough the the only piece of media I can think of that depiced this animal.

A number of other bird-like dinos hail from the Jehol, including the therizinosaur #Beipiaosaurus and the oviraptorosaur #Caudipteryx. Other major clades such as compsognathids (if valid - a whole other post), ornithomimosaurs, troodontids, and dromeosaurs all are represented in these rocks. (14/_)
