Screenshot from a post on Twitter. It shows the algae Caulerpa prolifera growing in a dish. The caption is "Fascinating talk by Elliot Meyerowitz at #WeigelFest2021. Talking about the unicellular plant Caulerpa prolifera. How can a plant that is a single(!) cell develop different organs, such as rhizoids and leaf-like fronds?"

I was fascinated by Elliot Meyerowitz' talk on #Caulerpa at #WeigelFest2021. I see that the group has now published a first paper on this unicellular(!) alga. Still impressed by all these structures that a single(!) cell can produce.
