Embrace the magic of the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. Let the darkness bring introspection and renewal as we await the return of the sun. #WinterSolstice #Yule #WinterIsHere #CelebrateTheDarkness #GlenAlex
Looking through an open woodland edge toward the sunset across an open pasture. We see a the trunks of a number of tall poplar trees, a couple of tall narow spruce with branches only up high, mostly out of sight, various small poplars and a couple of spruce and a bit denser growth off the right. We don't see the horizon clearly, but we can see a good part of the sky, which has areas of blue along with bands of cloud and some wispier bits- some of the cloud is blue-grey, but areas and the lighter higher bits catch pinky-golden light from the setting sun which is out of sight behind clouds on the horizon. Black vignette has been applied to the corners to emphasize the shadows of the approaching solstice.
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 19 Sunset now is just before 4:30 p.m. as we near the #WinterSolstice Interestingly, today (these shots are from a couple of days ago) it seemed light still at 5- clear sky on the horizon and fresh white everywhere! #CelebrateTheDarkness #sunset #WinterSolstice #Alberta ๐ท๐ฟ
