MP Book Reviews on Instagram: "Review: Kissing Alex by R.J. Scott 4 of 5 stars Lewis, a disciplined and quietly intense bodyguard, is assigned to protect Alex, a pop star whose fame has spiralled into chaos. What should have been a simple babysitting job turns serious when Alex’s ex threatens to leak a sex tape and a stalker becomes increasingly dangerous. Forced to flee to a remote Scottish island, Lewis must keep Alex safe while navigating the unexpected emotional connection growing between them. Protecting Alex from danger is part of the job — but protecting his own heart is something Lewis never trained for. I loved this story which was suspenseful, tender, and full of crackling chemistry, this was a heartfelt bodyguard romance with just the right amount of danger and vulnerability. This book delivers everything I love about the bodyguard‑celebrity trope: danger, forced proximity, and a slow‑burn connection that sneaks up on both characters. Lewis is the perfect brooding protector — calm, controlled, and determined to keep his distance — while Alex is a messy, vulnerable pop star whose life has spiralled far beyond the glitter of fame. Their dynamic is electric from the start. The tension ramps up beautifully as threats close in, pushing them to a remote Scottish island where the isolation strips away their defences. Watching Lewis struggle between duty and desire, and Alex slowly reveal the hurt beneath the attitude, gives the romance real emotional weight. This was an MM story with mature content. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01ERUER8O" 0 likes, 0 comments - mp_book_reviews on January 20, 2026: "Review: Kissing Alex by R.J. I mean ... I do quite like Alison Hammond, but this sort of tells me everything I needed to know about why the big publishing names are finding their market share eroded by niche houses.

Screenshot of the book’s “about the author page” which has three whole paragraphs of a biography of Alison and then in tiny writing right at the bottom of the page has the words “with Lisa Bent”.

To clarify, no, Alison Hammond (lovely though she is) didn’t “write a book”.
Writing a publishable book requires 100s of hours of specialist, expert work. #Bombshell was written by professional author Lisa Bent (in consultation with Alison)
Not that you’d know it😕
