Northern Namibia chill spots prepare for winter delights With winter approaching and a string of public holidays on the horizon, popular spots in northern Namibia are already devising seasonal offerings to keep patrons warm, engaged, and coming back for more. Classic Lounge – an outdoor establishment at Ondangwa – is taking the lead with a sizzling winter line-up. It has organised pajama parties, scarf parties, karaoke sessions, and a mix of local and international DJs to keep the party going on chilly weekends. “We’re creating an energetic atmosphere with themed nights like ‘Classic Keep-warm Tuesdays’ where guests can enjoy quizzes, drinks, and free mini blankets,” says owner Sanday Haimbili. “We believe in supporting local talent, so we’re also showcasing Namibian artists and DJs – they bring unique energy that keeps the crowd coming even when it’s cold.” Classic Lounge is also adding outdoor heaters, big LED screens for live sport, and a seasonal menu featuring hot cognac, coffee cocktails, and hearty meals. Haimbili adds that safety isn’t being overlooked. “We’re keeping things safe with video surveillance, crowd control, and high hygiene standards. “There’s always something new – from events to music – to keep guests coming back.” At Oluno, Dringo Pub is playing along too, with winter special weekends. “Expect live DJs, hot beverages, great grub, and a mellow atmosphere,” says Dringo’s Erikki Nakapolo. “We want to be the winter spot.” Meanwhile, Suprianos Lounge will wrap customers in warmth with fire pits and indoor heaters. Mulled wine, spiced cider, warm soups, and potjies are all on the list to chase away the chill. “Cosy ambience, and winter offers like ‘Two-for-One’ are all part of our plan to make it bustling,” Suprianos’ management says. Whether you’re looking for good music, hot drinks, or just a comfy place to meet up with friends, northern Namibia’s hangout spots await to make winter a season of warmth, energy, and memories to last a lifetime.
