The Chipko Movement - Right Livelihood The Chipko Movement is a non-violent resistance aiming to protect India’s forests. It received the Right Livelihood Award in 1987.

The Chipko movement, was a pioneering nonviolent, eco-feminist movement in India that began in the early 1970s, focused on protecting forests from commercial exploitation and deforestation.
