What an amazing #CityOfWaterDay last Saturday! We had a blast welcoming new friends and some regular Open House fans to our special location on the Harlem River. All the members of the #InwoodCanoeClub are thrilled to offer free kayaking to our community!
Celebrated #CityOfWaterDay w/ the Gowanus Canal Conservancy at Thomas Greene Park! Huge credit & thanks to @bkcb6.bsky.social members Aurelia Casey & Joe Anne Brown for making it happen.
It all reinforces why a Gowanus BID will benefit Gowanus’s future.

Walking tour group standing in the park. A freeway overpass crosses overhead and a large metal pipe (scupper) that drains runoff from the freeway can be seen on the supporting pillar. The end of the scupper can’t be seen but when it rains, it just discharges on the ground where the group is standing.
A walkway, under construction, crossing over a very green and marshy body of water. Beneath the bridge are metal tide gates preventing water flow. This is Tide Gate Bridge in Flushing Meadows.
A freeway overpass crossing above a large body of standing water (Flushing Creek). The water is very green and marshy. This is in the northeast part of Flushing Meadows.

Today is #CityofWaterDay ...doing some fun things along NYC's 520 miles of waterfront. Made more difficult by NY's haphazardly run and confusing ferry network.
At the Battery Park City landing, riders are overwhelmed with a flood of posters, easels, and signs since each operator does its own thing.
Finished our water testing at John's Cove! Happy #CityofWaterDay 🌊 to everyone! Enjoy the rest of this day full of fun activities!
