My cow snoot came out of bisque after one month of waiting (It was too hot to fire)! I gave it a solid underglazing and will send it back through bisque… but while I liked it very much before, the underglaze is about as charming as it could be.

So this is the last time I try to use this clay for sculpture that needs to keep its shape. In spite of of me letting it firm up, the clay buckled. I have since cut off the bottom. #whitebear was recommended. I know part of the problem must be me also. #claysky #ceramicsky #artsky #sculpture

A handbuilt egg tray sized for six eggs. The tray is made of still soft clay and impressed with a pattern made by rolling the slab with a crochet doily. The tray holds three wooden eggs and is resting on a green quilters mat.

Combining underglazes with scraffito technique. The carved lines will end up being much lighter after firing (Standard Clay 768 has a tendency to fire to light gray at Cone 6). Thinking about what darker clay body would work. #claysky have any suggestions for electric kiln Cone 6?
