We're standing on a hill looking down at the lake, which is glassy smooth. It's autumn, so the foliage is brown or yellowing. The extensive marshes, mostly sedges and cattails, are all brown. The sun is shining on the mountain on the other side of the lake, and cloud shadows are passing across them to the left and right.
