Of course u know us girlies will sniff out our journey if it's in there. But that's not hard. After all, the metaphor is eternal n archetypal. The shell falling away to reveal the true form. Transformation. Transcendence. Transgendered reality. And there were moments that definitely spoke to that. One especially at the end was so moving to me. I don't want to give it away in case anyone sees this film. I would love to describe it. But it would also steal some thing from your experience. And I won't do that. I wasn't looking for this, for the trans story in there (as I said, we almost threw a dart at a board to choose this film), but there r one or two in there n u won't have to work too hard to see them. My face was wet when the credits rolled n I don't know that anyone planned it that way in the script. I didn't see it coming. It caught me. There's something really beautiful about seeing this story of ours reflected, even if unintentionally. It's a real story, a true story, a deep and meaningful human truth we live, with far too little understanding, let alone support.

Sophie Thatcher is amazing and so lovable as Iris. Jack Quaid is hilarious as a Coen Brothers-esque dumb guy.
I kinda wish I didn’t know the reveal going in, but I still had an amazing time!

COMPANION (2024)—like BARBARIAN, it makes a strong case for promoting certain movies by masking their premise. I can’t even say what other films (or also in this case, show) it calls to mind. In short go see knowing as little as possible!
