The refusal to pay for proprietary nVidia, AMD, Intel or ARM AI just advances my agenda:
#RISC-V #RVA23 with open non-spyware #CoralNPU cores - few if you hate LLMs, many if you love them - will crush these proprietary chips. They'll be far cheaper, made in China, not a lot slower or power hungry.
Quick primer:
A modern #datacentre relies on #RISC-V ( #RVA23) open #AISoC chips typically with #CoralNPU codes to train #LLM. Totally open designs any chipmaker can customize, any chip fab can create.
More specialized inference wafers are much larger simpler chips (like #Groq).
#ARM is legacy.

The simplest #CoralNPU #SoC at 2 TOPS is about in the middle range of #RVV1 class #RISC-V accelerators. The #nVidia and #RaspberryPi #edgeAI devices offer 10-50TOPS but in 2026 it's certain that #RVA23 will dominate levels under 100TOPS, with #PyTorch support, etc.

#RVV "defines a scalable #RISC-V vector architecture like Intel’s AVX or ARM’s NEON [but] length-agnostic...from 128 bits to 1024 bits or more—without recompilation."
#RVV1 is part of #RVA23 & used in #CoralNPU for #SoC wearables, augmented reality glasses, smartwatches.

US experts admit losing the #AIrace to the less advanced but radically cheaper China chips and #opensource approach. This is accelerating due to #CoralNPU released by #Google, Meta+Google cooperating on #TorchTPU, #RVA23 and #RVV1 #RISC-V, China's rising #HBM3 capacity.
Realizing this, Google & Meta steered clear of the disaster, as had Amazon previously by making it's own chips.
The Google #CoralNPU release and the collaboration on #TorchTPU bypasses all #nVidia / #Palantir #spyware #killswitch to preserve global appeal of #GoogleCloud.
nVidia bought Groq

Re "localization, openness, repair, and maintenance" this to me suggests at least:
#RVA23 #CoralNPU #TorchTPU
#Linux #PostgreSQL
#ConvergedEthernet #PowerOverEthernet
#GPMI-B as #torus_interconnect
#source_code_escrow
#blind_credential access to #capital_asset

Update: nVidia licensed Groq chips and bought off the team, so I think the chips will get licensed to other big makers as an alternative to #CoralNPU Google gave away.
The chip compiler patents and the team that wrote it appear to have taken cash to walk - about 50 of them - who knows where.
We are not here because it's Bluesky we are here because the #ATprotocol lets us retain identity elsewhere. That is, we will be thrown off and banned for certain but it'll be easier to respawn in the #fediverse.
Consider that #RISC-V, #Linux, #PostgreSQL, #CoralNPU, #Ethernet, #GPMI-B outlast USA.
