W.D. Gaster, assumed to be the voice at the start of Deltarune, helps the SOUL look at herself by forming a mirror by placing his eye within the hole of his hand, and projecting his vision onto a green menu border for her to look at. While the main viewpoint only shows a small red heart, Gaster's viewpoint on the screen shows an angelic spirit in a pink hooded robe with detached sleeves. "YOU WORRY ABOUT YOUR VISAGE, YET I ONLY SEE WHAT IS TRULY THERE" he says reassuringly to her as she stares in shock at her reflection.

An alternate version of the image that shows the player in full detail, without the limited view of the menu border obscuring her. She has a beetle's shell on her back, and a segmented halo above her head that resembles beetle antennae curled into a heart. Her robe has large white heart shapes along the hem, and beneath it, she has four legs that end in pointed feet, resembling a more cartoonish depiction of lightning bolts. His body is made up of broken outlines resembling a humanoid in a black suit, with the only color on him being his white hands, head and the collar of a sweater, and his green eyes. He's noted to be very passionate despite his blunt affect, having no real physical cohesion, being very secretive about the purpose of Deltarune, and being careful to check in on stressed participants. He is shown cheering on a player represented as a one-eyed red heart with an iron heart-shaped ring around it, and fondly talking to another player represented as a mouse-sized ladybug held carefully in his hands as she blushes at his seemingly intimate regard for her.
