They won't ... they love the #CorporateCash and being #ReaganRepublicans with a 'D' after their name. They stopped being FDR Dems when Clinton won in 1992.
The real answer may be a vastly undervalued political strategy: matching funds from public money. Could public financing of elections overcome #CitizensUnited and the flood of #corporatecash and corruption in American politics?

Well, Trump wouldn't have gotten this far if Dems hadn't decided in the mid-80s to start accepting #CorporateCash, then Clinton signed NAFTA, he didn't have to, and Dems became the full blown corporate whores who cower in the corner whimpering, while perfecting #TheSilenceOfTheDoNothingDCDems.
No. the pendulum has been swingin so far right since Clinton was elected 1992. I lived it. NAFTA was wrong and Clinton didn't have to sign it. That was the 2nd betrayal. The first was creating the DLC and accepting #CorporateCash for elections.
I don't like the Meidas Touch Network because they help *hide / cover up* the facts that prove Dems are just as horrible as Repubs. Which leads me to believe that they are taking #CorporateCash, just like The Young Turks do....to manipulate their followers into being #DNCLemmings.
Both Ds and Rs are complicit - NEITHER is doing the jobs they were elected to do.
Oh, wait -- just remembered, both accept #CorporateCash & Wall Street loves what Trump is doing, so in a way, yes, Ds & Rs *are* doing what they are paid to do: be corporate whores & silent as Trump destroys the USA.
Confirmed under Clinton / DLC accepting #CorporateCash for campaign purposes...you can't serve both Wall Street donors and hourly wage earner voters. Dems chose Wall Street over workers ... Dems gave us Trump twice.
Started in '92 w Clinton / DLC accepting #CorporateCash ... when you are beholden to Wall Street, & refuse to do what the voters want, & endlessly capitulate (aka, "take the higher ground") to Repubs instead of pushing back,,,,you end up *here* with Trump for a 2nd time. #DemsGaveUsTrump twice.
40 years of Dems moving to the right, accepting billions in #CorporateCash, putting their donor base over their voting base *brought us here*.
Dems are 100% to blame for Trumps win in 2016 and 2024.
And now, they are in the corner wimpering when not doing meaningless Kabuki Theater.
This has been the Dem Party MO since Clinton...it is what happens when you decide to accept #CorporateCash.
Should have been the *goal* in 2016, w some small wins to convince voters Hillary *might* have been better than Trump, but nope, Hillary wanted that #CorporateCash.
Dems refuse to learn, Dems *LOVE* being #CorporateWhores, Dems never do anything real for hourly wage earners - neither will the Repubs
She squandered the opportunity by following the #CorporateCash #PACMoney and I doubt she or any other Dem Politicians truly understand how they keep losing their voters.
Dem leadership is "inept" on purpose ... they started accepting #CorporateCash under Clinton, and Dems ARE the #ReaganRepublicans we *swore* never to vote for.
So did the Dems. Once Clinton convinced the Dems to accept #CorporateCash, they became the #ReaganRepubs we swore NEVER to vote for.
All talk, zero real action to help the average worker.
Got endless tax cuts for the rich ; and benefit cuts to the workers.
Non-established parties are the answer.
Sadly, true...but also true is that Dems *are not* much better ... Dems *talk a good game*, but all they have are excuses *not* to deliver as they continue to accept #CorporateCash and move ever rightward. Dems *used to be* anti-war, now they are pro-war and pro-genocide.
Well said!
Dems have been #ReaganRepublicans since at least 2000, maybe a bit before. As soon as Clinton convinced them to take #CorporateCash, they stopped caring about actually doing anything for the hourly wage earners.
