Is Sara Serraiocco in S2 or left the show? I'm unsure how the new sleeper cell will work unless they've somehow already been replaced as there are no transfers possible. So Nadia would've already done those murders?

Other Howard is gonna mess up with Emily soon?

I can get behind Peter being an anti-hero blundering through despite the carnage in his wake. At long as he destroys Clare I don't mind. He can murder Naya too please.

As expected there is a backdoor between worlds but it's just electronic or allows some transfer?

Will each ep alternate betweeen world or will S2 be just our world? I don't think we can go long without seeing our Howard.
Nazanin Boniadi is Iranian but I think with Clare that they are leaning into her being a Mossad murderer or was 2018 there yet with the occupiers?

#Counterpart TV ep #2.01 "Inside Out" (09-Dec-18).
In which we get a new ex-FBI agent aboard who is a Black Muslim. Ok it adds diversity which is needed but Christ above we don't need US folk in this show at all. I can give JK Simmons a slight pass but kinda hope Naya gets herself murdered asap.

I'm not sure if there'll be a point to S2 butbe nice to see the characters again. Maybe one or two new ones.
Seemingly not having women leads in this was responsible for it's low ratings? Real TV exec BS as we have Nazanin Boniadi, Sara Serraiocco & Olivia Williams.

The introduction of Managment is a real banana skin as it takes away agency from our main characters and makes them look servile. They all just become mere lackeys for billionaires. So I like we don't see Management nor should we. If we do this will jump the shark.

End of S1. I was surprised with Pope's fate. Though his other self could be in S2? But I don't think the show is designed to see everyones duplicate mind.
Silk's reversal of fates was decent. The show is at its best when it explores the meeting point between a duo.

I'm not equipped on German espionge to rate this. The spying on our world is too analog & low tech. Is it homaging prior spy formats? In #LaValla that was a disaster but works well here. Come on @holgerhaase.bsky.social this show should be right up deine Strasse!

#Counterpart TV ep #1.10 "No Man's Land [2]" (01-Apr-18).
I'm not equipped to assess how good this is. The presence of an American character is gnawing at me. JK Simmons could surely have played Silk as non-US? Writer Justin Marks is American so ok that maybe validates that creative decision?

Peter ends unexpectedly. Ok he's a coward but thought there'd be more story behind his death.
The action sequence at the end was let down by guards who seem like they've never been trained. Like use a hand grenade or someting to take them out to avoid such silliness.

#Counterpart TV ep #1.09 "No Man's Land [1]" (18-Mar-18).
I was enjoying this till J.K. Simmons mentions all the Thanksgivings he and Emily had together. Like why is an American holliday even men tioned in this European story? Isn't Howard British? Or who the fuck is he then?

#Counterpart TV ep #1.08 "Love the Lie" (11-Mar-18).
The highlight was Our Harold putting Other Harold back in his box in their secret meeting.
Also just quietly Aldrich tightening the noose on Peter adds to his presence.
I'm unsure how watertight Clare and Peter's new alliance can really last?

#Counterpart TV ep #1.07 "The Sincerest Form of Flattery" (04-Mar-18).
We get a long flashback to Clare's other life and well it's decent but needed trimming badly in places. Still at least this wasn't the penultimate pointless diversion ep like it would be were this on Netlflix.

Go back and watch #COUNTERPART.

It seemed such a trippy idea at the time, but now... maybe it was all just a documentary.

As expected both Harolds are getting closer together. With Other Harold showing some compassion and Our Harold now carrying a gun.
What Pope is trying to achieve is unclear. What's his plan? Just revenge?
Harold fooling the lie detector was pretty funny. Great stuff.

#Counterpart TV ep #1.06 "Act Like You've Been Here Before" (25-Feb-18).
I love the scene where Quayle discovers the mole and who they are as it clicks into place.
I still don't get how anyone under 30, eg that trio from The School, have duplicates? There's no way those born later would be similar.

#Counterpart TV ep #1.05 "Shaking the Tree" (18-Feb-18).
The two Howards messing each other's lives up is fun and provides great character work.
The main arc is quite intriguing but I guess the less we know the more scary it is. I hope all that tension doesn't disappear after various reveals ahead.

Saying that this is all really excellent fare. The overarching plot is a bit opaque but to be fair it is too all the protagonists too. That definitely fuels the angst and noir espionage feels.

Ok Our Harold is surely just a schmuck and not really a hidden manipulator?

#Counterpart TV ep #1.04 "Both Sides Now" (11-Feb-18).
I wonder why J.K. Simmons is even in this? Also the end credits music was an American song which was so wrong. So I'm getting that sinking feeling like I had with #Tatau that the paymasters interfered to make this relevant to Americans.

This is an extremely high quality bit of television. It is great at selling you a dummy on what you think you know. That means there are many possibilites to consider in terms of who's who and what they really know. Hence it has got a great noir espionage feel.

We're meant to think Other Howard is up to something and Our Howard is an innocent. However I wonder how dark Our Howard will go, what he actually knows and whether he's pulling strings. Unlikely but this show will surely draw both Howards together in persona each ep?

#Counterpart TV ep #1.03 "The Art of Diplomacy" (04-Feb-18).
I like how the other world design wise has a bit of the old rundown East Berlin noir-ness to it and our World is more the shiny West Berlin.
Saying that any German feel is mostly in the background as the cast is so mulitnational.

However the first indulgent bit of casting happened with Sara Serraiocco as the actress is clearly a dozen years too young to play the character. Odd casting. Serraiocco is great but I can't work out how her time frame or how if she was ~40 how she'd be an assassin.

#Counterpart TV ep #1.02 "Birds of a Feather" (28-Jan-18).
This is almost perfect. Big picture stuff of how both worlds operate is trickling through and the character stuff is very detailed.
Presumably Other Howard is simply trying to kill and replace Our Howard which is why he wants him close?

#Counterpart TV 1.01 cont'd.
JK Simmons is great. Unsure why an American is in this but JK opens wallets. Fortunately he plays an everyman so no American man shtick is on screen.

The flowers clue was great as it was clear that'd be the tell and our Howard wouldn't be smart enough to remember so.

#Counterpart TV ep #1.01 "The Crossing" (10-Dec-17).
I put this placeholder down for a reason yet I've no idea what this is yet.
It's got a bit of a East German spy vibe, a bit of "Brazil" dystopia to it.
So it's parallel universe fare but not a nostalgia fuelled "Dark" clone which ran concurrently.
