A small group of black cattle graze to g grass next to and among winter bare birch trees. There are some patches of snow on the ground.
Our little Angus group have been doing really well this week in the snow - the melt is on, and they were enjoying some shelter from the wind this morning in the trees 🌳 🐂🌳

If cows look like this when I go to move them, then I’m happy.
If they are desperate to move and stressed they are not putting energy into laying down fat or making milk.
Outwintering requires fat, content cows.
