A crescent-shaped Neptune and its moon Triton, captured by Voyager 2 in 1989. The image, taken from a unique vantage point, shows Neptune's reddish hue due to forward-scattered sunlight, a view impossible from Earth. Triton is visible as a small, bright point of light near Neptune.
