Originally I was intending to color this, but the scene is set in a dark tunnel, so I left it with just the basic saturation blocking.

My coding development is a bit jammed right now, so I'm switching to drawing for a little while. Whenever I have power at home. Krita is pretty demanding on my little laptop.

My Framework 12 stylus finally arrived.
I got a Lenovo Precision Pen 2 before, but couldn't get it to work. It should, through MPP2 protocol, but the tech support

I've updated the Agarthian writing system and wrote a guide that can help learning it. It's the native script meant for the native language of the characters in #Psychosomatic_Existence and #Cross_Pollinator.

#indiedev #gamedev #godot Windback Wednesday: demo of "Freeroam" (exploration/RPG) mechanics at work in #Cross_Pollinator. Animations weren't working properly yet, But you could move the characters, detect areas of the map the characters enter and interact with props/characters, like the cabinet.

For Windback Wednesday, here is a #Cross_Pollinator concept character where I first used the name "Nova Zeta", before recycling it for the character in #Psychosomatic_Existence. This alternate version was made to look somewhat slavic, rather than asian as in the comic.

When developing the story of #Cross_Pollinator, I played a few hour-long videos compiling all the alien stories people have thrown around. I wanted to re-interpret #UFO incidents as Agarthian activity. The vast majority of these stories are super goofy and inconsistent.

In #Cross_Pollinator I had some some rough ideas for Agarthian weapons and would give them fancy sounding names like Zatarc or Raycaster, but I've now realized that I should rename them to something based on their language. It has been fun to come up with things like Diverfleksanto and Transrekto.

On Windback Wednesday, I'll tell you that changes in lore and story have rendered the backstory of this character meaningless. Today's #gamedev of #Cross_Pollinator was focused on figuring out a debug mode to better visualize NPC AI prioritizes for movement. Tiles are colored by score: red = negative, green = near zero, blue = positive.
A little ledger tells you the range of scores all decisions fall into.

The game will feature four protagonists. Ethan Lennox, Sven Moller, and later resident Agarthians Seigro Gamma and Eksono Delta, once you need to fight actually tough enemies. Each member has a card suit codename, blood type and sex.

Today I have the military uniform concept for the Agarthians of #Cross_Pollinator. They will act as powerful mini-bosses.

You can also see Rhioko using this uniform in #Psychosomatic_Existence, while the rookies only use the vest but with a jumpsuit instead of armour and exoskeleton/holster parts.

So I'm going to explain the issues I'm having with NPC AI in #Cross_Pollinator. Currently I just want them to walk to behind cover in a sensible way, according to the position of player characters (their enemies).
