The world looked the same as he remembered when blanketed in shadows and starlight. Petrichor hinted at the afternoon rain, a brief shower that had passed quickly enough that the moon still peeked through smoky clouds. Conrad's boots sunk into the mud with each step along the garden path, casting up specks that he would have to manually clean out of his pants later. He could no longer use a cleansing spell for that kind of work. The threat of labor didn't deter him, though. Too distracted with memories of a similar, muddy night where he and Lucien fell into puddles while chasing fireflies.

Happy One Year Anniversary! It has been SUCH a journey this past year, but im SO happy to say we have reached a huge milestone for the comic, one year since we first beggan sharing this story with you all! I can't thank you guys enough, I'm serious. Theres a lot of platitudes to express thanks, but I sincerely can't thank all you readers enough for showing this comic love and support, reading in silence, following, or leaving lovely comments, knowing that someone out there loves my work makes every day worth it. I often start projects and burn out, but I still have the same fire I had when I first began, and I am SO thrilled to continue for another amazing year! As a special treat for one year, I am releasing an additional page for you all!! We have barely scratched the surface of the story me and my cowritters have planned, we've basically only just left the prologue behind and entered the first real "arc" of the story.
