Finishing a late lunch at the kitchen table with my roommate when I spotted a bald eagle swooping and gliding outside the house.
We ran from window to window for about fifteen minutes, watching it like excited children. 🦅😂

Found my neighbor-friend’s husband trying to pull her out of the passenger seat of their car— she’d just had her wisdom teeth removed.
I was trying to help pull her up when she gave up, sat back down, and said:

I don’t share much about the critters I encounter on my late-night walks—I worry it might start to feel redundant.
But tonight I saw the cutest raccoon!!
And just as I stepped into my driveway, the largest skein of geese I’ve ever seen swept across the sky overhead.

Was on a drive earlier, and had to stop for someone on a walking path on a back road.
There was a woman stopped opposite on the other side of the road, me, and the woman on the walking path, and we all looked at each other for a moment, and we were all calm, natural, smiling. 🧵

I don’t know how to help you with his schooling. I was at a complete loss with helping you. We were on such different perspectives I couldn’t comprehend where you were at. I always felt I failed you. I think you stand a chance of understanding him. I can tell this. The system is not designed to help kids who aren’t part of the cookie cutter world. The answer has to come from him. You need to find the link that brings his interests into the subjects he is taking at school. I was never able to find yours.
