The Warwolves are attacking!
Look, it’s Zack from Battle of the Atom and some of his friends! #dailyxmen

Cable and X-Force issue 7’s cover. A red background. Cyclops is in his red Bendis era uniform, the one with his visor as a big X on his face. In big text, “DADDY’S HOME”
Iconic cover. #DailyXMen
Teen Scott suggests the kids vote on whether to stay or go. Teen Jean: Stay (she suggested it) Teen Scott: Stay (he’s concerned about his future self) Teen Warren Kenneth Worthington III: We should go home (doomed) Teen Beast: (looking at present Hank, holding his hand up) You started it. Teen Warren Kenneth Worthington III since Teen Bobby: Oh what the hell? Bobby: You’ve got to be kidding me. Scared that I’m going to make you look like a lameass? (He will)
The young X-Men are here forever! Well, for five years, which is long enough for them to be included in Marvel Puzzle Quest and the X-Men reskin of the Spartacus board game. #DailyXMen
Teen Hank McCoy helping Hank McCoy who’s like a giant blue gorilla now. He’s stable (physically).
Beast ends up as Ape Beast, another step towards Kissinger Beast which is admittedly my favourite. #DailyXMen
Teen Jean Grey in Beast’s mind, which is why she’s in the green dress. She’s reading all his memories of her life, including X-Factor, the wedding, Phoenix, Black Queen, her Revolution and New X-Men fits, Cyclops as Apocalypse, Maddie’s death in Inferno and so on. It’s a lot and looks cool, even though Hank wasn’t there for all of these moments.
I love the telepathic montage of memories Immonen draws. You can see why folks return to this kind of spread. #DailyXMen
The Jean Grey School with floating bits, icy bits, new wings and a startled O5. Beast tells Jean the school’s named after her and she wants to know why, although we all know it’s because she’s dead.
I love the idea that we’ve seen so many strange, grimdark futures from the present cast, bringing the O5 forward is exactly the same experience. #DailyXMen
Hank McCoy talks to the teenage Jean and spoils that she will be a telepath in the future.
Beast then lets on to the original five X-Men that Cyclops killed Professor X. For emphasis, the panel they hear that in has a bloodstain smeared across the background and the kids are in black & white.
Hank is so bad at this. #DailyXMen
Two panels. Cyclops on a TV screen, black and white, flickering. Cyclops: If you are mutant you are part of an elite species that deserves every freedom. Don’t worry my brother and sister of the atom. We are X-Men and we stand together. Then almost as an afterthought, he crosses his forearms to make an X.
This is a really cool moment and really dorky as well, making it perfect for Cyclops. #DailyXMen
A triptych of images making up the covers of All-New X-Men issues 1 & 2. Left: What will become Uncanny X-Men, with Magik, Magneto, Cyclops, Emma Frost and Triage. Middle: the original five X-Men in their classic uniforms: Angel, Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Beast & Iceman Right: Kitty Pryde, Beast, Storm, Wolverine, Iceman and Tempus.
Bendis X-Men! Let’s go! #DailyXMen
Longshot grabs his head. He’s seeing three different series of events in green, red and blue.
I love this kind of sequence. #DailyXMen
Longshot having had the mullet cut and the sides of his hair shaved. It doesn’t quite look like the fashy or Peaky Blinders cut, mostly because of his sideburns.
Years ago I didn’t get Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe as I didn’t care for his new haircut. Years later, I guess it’s fine. #DailyXMen
Glob Herman spraying, “we don’t need no education” but he’s misspelled almost every word. He’s shouting, “Nl teachers! Riot at the Grey School!” Off-panel, Quentin Quire tells him to shut up.
No, Glob. Not again! #DailyXMen
Red Skull talking in the telly about Genosha and how when there are more mutants, they’ll rise up against humans. This is all happening while humans are incited into murdering mutants, even their kids and lovers.
In 2013, Red Skull needed Honest John the Living Propaganda. These days I’m sure he’d just be allowed on GB News without needing powers to assist him. #DailyXMen
Red Skull holding up the squishy brain of Professor X, one of the last Avians!
They stole Xavier’s brain! #DailyXMen
Uncanny Avengers 2. A flashback to the original From the Ashes era, where Professor X takes Rogue in. Lilandra’s with Professor X. Her hair’s the usual big feathered thing in the shape of her helmet, with an incredible widow’s peak and sideburns. The back of her head, which we don’t often see, is completely bald.
Is this a colouring issue or is Lilandra’s hair really like this? #DailyXMen
Uncanny Avengers 1. Captain America asks Alex Summers to go for a coffee with him. Thor says the place they go to also does lattes if he prefers (which Thor does). I guess Thor’s not used to the fact that pretty much every coffee makes lattes.
It’s official, Thor likes a latte. #DailyXMen
Dazzler on a beach, having told Logan she wants some time off before deciding whether to join the Jean Grey School or not. She’s projecting a hologram of the dead Kurt Waggoner and Hercules. Howlett and Union Soldier Cyclops are alive and hunting for Hercules in the Greek Underworld.
X-Treme X-Men was a good Sliders/Exiles series with an interesting hook (many evil Xavier’s, including a space whale and a unicorn). #dailyxmen
Harper Simmons and AoA William Stryker on a beach, toasting their fallen comrades: Deadeye, Jean Grey, Horror Show, Fiend and Goodnight.
Age of Apocalypse must have been an odd series to deal with, using a few surviving AoA people and a framing device of an Earth 616 journalist who we almost never see. #dailyxmen
A trio of evil Professor X’s in front of a portal.
Jean Grey as Apocalypse, wrecking shit.
Dark Beast smashing Iceman’s back with an Apocalypse Seed seed.
Of course this is all the fault of several Professor X’s. The Age of Apocalypse universe is wrecked and needs to be sealed up where no one will ever use it again and Dark Beast inserts an Apocalypse Seed nugget into Iceman. #dailyxmen
The Exterminators who are big blue-skinned guys with a glowing shape on their chests.
AoA Jean kisses AoA Graydon Creed goodbye. He’s a giant tattooed skinhead here, continuing the trend of him looking different in every appearance.
Hercules dies! Nooooo!!!
AoA Jean in a very unflattering blue and silver Apocalypse outfit.
The Exterminators aren’t the most interesting villains, but then monsters so bad they had to be locked in an alternate reality is something I did in my last fantasy campaign so what do I know. Jean’s relationship with Graydon Creed is weird, then she’s an Apocalypse. #dailyxmen
Liu’s Astonishing X-Men: Gambit, Iceman, Northstar and Karma behind Wolverine who’s crouching on the ground looking for evidence of AoA Nightcrawler who betrayed them to avenge his wife by killing Blob (by teleporting a shark into him, which fucking rocked).
An explosion in the Dreaming Celestial. I swear, everyone with a doctorate in Mad Science has got up into that Celestial at some point.
The X-Treme X-Men float out of a portal. Head in a Jar Xavier, Kurt Waggoner, Earth 616 Sage and Dazzler, Union Soldier Cyclops, James Howlett and his boyfriend Hercules.
This week my #dailyxmen reading has been all X-Termination all the time. Liu’s Astonishing X-Men, Lapham’s Age of Apocalypse and Pak’s X-Treme X-Men are all hidden gems, so why not mix them all together for one big story?
An alternate Ancient Egypt. The X-Treme X-Men are in disguises in the foreground, watching slaves build a sphinx with Professor X’s face.
X-Treme X-Men gives us a sphinx with Professor X’s face. A sphinX, if you will. #DailyXMen
Dazzler meeting a unicorn Charles Xavier. It’s all an illusion and he’s some kind of demon who for some reason decided to look like this.
Evil Unicorn Xavier! #DailyXMen
It’s an Acanti space whale, but with Professor X’s face, floating over San Francisco.
Whale Xavier! #DailyXMen
From Astonishing X-Men, Warbird (Shi’ar, not Carol Danvers) has been hit with dust that makes you dream, something abhorrent in Shi’ar culture. She’s a deviant, with artistic thoughts, so she dreams but survives it. We see an amazing series of colourful patterns behind a child version of Warbird. An explosion of art with her feathered hair shedding off, sketched animals… it’s lovely and my words don’t really do it justice.
Gabriel H Walta, what a legend! #DailyXMen
Arcade looking at a map with all the kidnapped kids at the centre. A close up on his mouth: Ahem… Wake. Up.
Arcade explodes Mettle at the very start. He’s in a silhouette in the foreground. Arcade’s in a white suit pointing a remote control at him. The background is solid red.
Red Raven flies upwards in a panic and breaks her neck on the ceiling.
My #dailyxmen reading this week is a bit of a tangent, but a treat for myself. I’m reading Avengers Arena!
Betsy’s shown her future self, Magistrate Braddock. She’s horrified.
Future Cable: A world where no innocent ever suffers. Psylocke: Because you murder anyone with impure thoughts. Future Cable: Oversimplifying things— and you know it! You’re the fist humanity needed to protect itself. Psylocke: And who will kill us for our murderous thoughts, Cable?
I like that Uncanny X-Force’s Final Execution shows the grimdark future where the team’s mission statement ends up being what messed up the world. That can often be a depressing edgy twist, but for this team, it makes sense. #DailyXMen
Age of Apocalypse Nightcrawler: Awful quiet around here. Wade on a recon mission? Wolverine: Yup. Thinks he’s Robert Evans this week. I told him the spook he’s tailing is a Hollywood financier.
I’m choosing to believe Logan means Robert Evans, knife owner and host of Behind the Bastards. #DailyXMen
Jamie Madrox turning the sign on his office to say, “Sorry we’re closed”.
I’ve finally reached the end of X-Factor, for a while, especially the investigative version. #DailyXMen
There’s a lot here. Basically Shatterstar explains that they need to send Baby Shatterstar 100 years into the future where he can come back and then end up cloned into Longshot. Ricto rightfully says, “Man… have you got one weird life ahead of you.”
I still love the daddyboros with Shatterstar being Dazzler & Longshot’s child, then Longshot being cloned from Shatterstar. #dailyxmen
