There is an absolutely beautiful stretch of rusted warehouse wall near my home here in Brooklyn. For years it’s been covered in vibrant graffiti and tags; gritty, urban art. Alas, they are now painting over it, turning a once lively tapestry into a dull, industrial-gray nothing space. But hope springs eternal and I await the day when the artists and taggers return to reclaim this blank canvas, resurrecting it with the elegant and lived-in flair that it deserves. So with something appropriately “hip hoppy”, here’s some more (US) morning mellow.
