Same species with a little darker cap and remnants of a universal veil, which is a soft white covering on the surface. There is also a sac-like white volva at the base of the stipe. It was growing from Coast Live Oak duff with some grass scattered around as well.

Here are some of the #Deathcaps (Amanita phalloides) that I've seen over the years. Their caps generally have a slight greenish tint, but they can also look quite brownish, which makes them easy to confuse with edible species. #FungiFriends #Fungi #Mushrooms #FridayFungi
