I can't remember who recommended BlueArk to port over old Tweets but thank you!! It's fun to look over all the #kdramas I've raved/raged about. And, it might be time to bring back #DecemberDramas!
Last #DecemberDramas review! One of my favs this yr was #AgeOfYouth2, which delivered everything I loved about S1 & more. Though like the rest of the universe I couldn’t believe we didn’t get a Ssong/Sung-min couple by the end, #ParkEunBin rocked my world with her performance.
#DecemberDramas 20: As much as I loved the OTP in #BecauseThisLifeIsOurFirst, I loved our trio of ladies even more—particularly badass Su-ji. Things that’ll stick w/ me the most: that beach kiss between Se-hee & Ji-ho and the fierceness of #Esom.
#DecemberDramas 19: What could have been with #TemperatureOfLove! The romance sizzled at first, but the show didn’t have enough storyline (and too much crazy in its 2nd leads) to sustain its loooong run. Above all, I can’t forgive this show for making me dislike #SeoHyunJin.
#DecemberDramas 18: I haven’t yet watched a 12 ep drama that I didn’t love, and #GoBackSpouses was no exception. Heartwarming, funny, poignant, unexpectedly moving, and all-too-real about the difficulties of marriage. #JangKiYong in particular is a scene stealer.
#DecemberDramas 17: #TheBestHit had so many hilarious moments and a brilliant, sparkly #YoonShiYoon who lit up the screen. Too bad the story fell off its tracks towards the end in service of a bleh romance—the show could have been one of the greats.
#DecemberDramas 16: There’s nothing I love more than a good friends to lovers story, so #FightMyWay is right up my ally. #ParkSeoJoon is SO swoon-worthy in this, plus I loved that he and our main foursome are real, actual, relatable people. Also, swoony #ParkSeoJoon!
#DecemberDramas 15: Came out of recapping hiatus for #ManToMan...and not sure it was totally worth it. Bromance was aces but underused the further we got into the series, and though #ParkHaeJin made for a convincing super (hot) spy, the terrible plot didn’t do him any favors.
#DecemberDramas 14: Though I like both #GoKyungPyo and #ChaeSooBin, I found their story and romance in #StrongestDeliveryman boring at best, while #KimSunHo & #KoWonHee were super weird, adorable, and not like your typical 2nd leads at all.
#DecemberDramas 13: #WhileYouWereSleeping started out with a bang but never fulfilled the promise of its setup (uh...#W? Is that you?), turning out to be rather forgettable. At least I was introduced to cutie #JungHaeIn & #LeeJongSuk was awesome, as always.
#DecemberDramas 12: Also a fav from 2017—#LiveUptoYourName had a time travel premise that I could actually get behind, and #KimNamGil & #KimAhJoong were seriously 🔥🔥🔥
#DecemberDramas 11: #SevenDayQueen is prob my pick for best drama of the year—a surprise to me since I don’t often go for sageuks or melos. But it was so beautiful all around, w/ pitch perfect acting + super tight and emotionally satisfying storyline from beginning to end.
#DecemberDramas 10: Just finished #MostBeautifulGoodbye & holy crap I’ve never cried that hard or that much during a show ever. I’d recommend if you want to have your heart ripped out of your chest and wake up w/ terribly swollen eyes the next day.
#DecemberDramas 9: Started #Rebel based on early buzz & was pleasantly surprised at how moving it was the whole way through. Excellent turns from supporting cast, but my fav might be #HoneyLee, who owned her role like nobody’s business. Lovely OST to boot.
#DecemberDramas 8: Shows like #School2017 are why I love youth dramas. I’ve kept an eye on #KimJungHyun since #JealousyIncarnate but he surpassed all expectations here. #TaeSwoon4eva
#DecemberDramas 7:
#SuspiciousPartners started well but it detoured into snoozeville at the midpoint & never made its way back. At least our scrappy law firm team was entertaining throughout? Still, it had no business being 20 eps.
December is halfway over and I’ve only done 6/22 of #DecemberDramas. So behind and so much to do!
#DecemberDramas 6: #Goblin could have used a good editor (like every other recent tvN drama), but it gave us 2 of the most memorable characters in the Goblin and the Reaper. Bottom line: came for the romance, stayed for the bromance.
#DecemberDramas 5: #LiarAndHisLover was sweet and winning, even though its cast of mostly newbies meant we got lots of uneven acting. Great use of music throughout, and I particularly loved the journey we took with the band Crude Play (hello, #JangKiYong!)
#DecemberDramas 4: #20thCenturyBoyAndGirl was, at best, a bland show with a not much of a plot. But for some reason I have a soft spot for it—maybe it’s #KimJiSuk? Or the heroine’s 2 adorable friends? Either way, it was just the fluff I needed this fall.
#DecemberDramas 3: Oh man, I really loved #ChicagoTypewriter. A bit slow to start, but the 3 leads made up for it. Gorgeously shot and directed. Words can’t fail to do justice to the perfection that is 1930s Yoo Ah-in.
#DecemberDramas 2: Had such high hopes for #TomorrowWithYou, only to be disappointed by weak writing/storyline, esp in 2nd half. Couldn’t believe how unlikeable our hero was from beginning to end—Shin Mina did what she could, but I just never got on board w/ their relationship.
First #DecemberDramas review: Romance in #StrongWomanDoBongSoon is off the charts adorable, but everything else is just...ugh. First drama in ages that I made liberal use of the ff button. Also, what a waste of Ji-soo. Made it to the end thanks to this guy.
