A small six petaled white lily with three long green white spotted leaves grows on the forest floor. Its stamens have yellow pollen filled anthers and curve out slightly while the white pistil points straight up. The long stem is slightly hairy. Although bead lilies are said to spread , I didn't see anymore than one here or there

The Tye River crashes through a narrow spot on its way to join the Foss. The river is hemmed in by granite walls and boulders, with green shrubs and trees haging over the edges. The rocky border is covered with yellow-green moss. The foreground is full of duff between the rocks. The river itself, in the mid ground, is clear and the water is blue with white foam where it crashes into the boulder in its bed.
Sit by a river and feel the peace. Listen to the varied thrushes' odd song.
