The Valentine's Day letter that Catherine receives. On it reads: Of course! Here's a clean, classic love letter -- warm but not over the top -- I've really loved the time we've spent together, and I keep finding myself smiling when I think about it. Being around you feels easy and genuine, and I admire how thoughtful and engaging you are. Every conversation leaves me wanting more, and I always look forward to the next moment we share. I would love the chance to take you out properly and see where this connection could go. Would you like to go on a date with me? ... And now, I shall proceed to cleanse my fingers from typing this god-awful letter.
*This segment happened before this comic.* The envelope had not been touched since it was delivered to her room. It was addressed to Catherine. It couldn’t be her parents. It couldn’t be her friends, though she had tried to drag them to Delicia Island for a group vacation and explore the surroundings. She wished they’d come so they could sample this delectable little cafe run by Flare. Neither groups send letters to her. Not when she’s on vacation. It was past lunch. She’d taken a stroll through the wealthier parts of the island. Window shopping did little to distract her from the mystery trapped inside paper walls. She returned empty-handed out of frustration towards this letter. With a gleaming shard, she sliced the edge of the envelope open to spill its clandestine letter. *After opening the letter* What a boring letter. She wasted so much thought over nothing. She wants answers. **Author's note: I am so glad I drew this.
Then my third and final recipient: Catherine! She also visits Delicia Island as a tourist. And she too received a card!
I ought to fix my style for comics. It's janky that I read it from top-left > bottom-left > top-right > bottom-right.
