The arrows signify what they think of the other person. Grian's arrow pointing to Scar, thinking he is a good "roommate" (not really room mate since they have separate rooms, just someone who they share an apartment with) Scar's arrow pointing at Grian, thinking he's a potential friend to make! Scar thinks Grian's alter ego is a nuisance and "he's in my way" Grian thinking Scar's alter ego is "probably evil"

Sequence of events led Scar & Grian to end up sharing an apartment. One way and another they somehow ended up being good friends, inspite of them not knowing eachotehrs secret identity fighting against eachother.
