New public registry allows lookups of people convicted of animal abuse across Florida Starting January 1, Florida will implement two new animal-related laws that focus on protecting pets and providing clearer guidelines for owners.

"The public registry helps pet adopters & community members make informed decisions & may reduce adoptions by those w/animal abuse histories. Violations under Dexter’s Law can have serious consequence affecting records, jobs, housing, and future pet ownership."
