A closeup of the player reference on collecting diatoms which shows that the size of the fractional color groups in your sample determine what Diatoms you collect: 1/6 yields the single-point circle, 2/6 gives the 2-ended oval, 3/6 gives you the 3-cornered triangle, 4/6 the 4-cornered square, and 5/6 yields the 5-pointed star.
