Turns out many of the younger readers don't! Something I found out when I had some younger readers get a sneak peek of a few pages. The term isn't as commonly known anymore as it was back when I was young.

I still have nightmares of this sort of scenario. Of dozens of unknown hands prodding and grasping me. So I captured that fear and exorcised it into one of my comic's pages.

When we head for bed, I sleep facing the door at my feet. I sometimes, half-asleep, imagine someone sliding the door open and stepping into the room. An intruder. A secret neighbor. A horror.
It inspired this sequence. It still brings me chills.

I like horror. But I also like horror that creeps up on you. Or whispers its presence and leaves you time to notice it. Or not, and you only see it later when you double check a page or read it again. Horror that acts like a disease, striking when it is time.

DILIMAN (1997) ended with this final image. I was quite surprised how many people still remember it. I can only hope they will appreciate the upcoming book just as much. And yes, that is a Zsazsa Zaturnnah Dog.
