A bright sunny day, with a large Victorian pier extending from left to right in the distance. In the foreground is a pebble beach and then the sea, on the right, and a promenade on the left.
Inside a bright and airy seafront cafe, with full glass walls and a magnificent view down onto the sea. The sun is shining, the sky is bight blue and cloudless, and the sea is glistening in the light. Outside the cafe is a wooden deck with chairs, tables, grass, large arrangements of driftwood, and pebbles carried on to the prom from higher tides. Two people are pole fishing on the beach. They both have white shirts and dark trousers on.
One of the Tropical Interudes, as I call them. Usufound along or near the town's seafront, blocks containing various palm trees and cordylines. This particular interlude contains currently flowering (and quite pongy) cordylines on either side of a massive echium, a very tall, thin plant growing to a point, with tiny pink flowers on. The photo is looking up to the top of the echium on a cloudless bright blue sky.
I know I complain about the bright sun, but it still is a lovely day. #DownByTheSea
On an overcast day, looking over the rails of the promenade at a pebble beach. Sand is visible, and the tide has just started coming in. The waves are gentle, with only a little white foam. A wooden groyne on the left separates this beach from its neighbour, helping prevent the pebbles from being moved too far off their own beach by the sea. Nothing is visible on the sea
Walking along a tarmac promenade on a gloomy day. On the right is a pebble beach with loads of fishing boats on. There are pipes laid horizontally between some of the boats, making rollers over the pebbles to launch from. The sea is visible to the far right.
Looking left from the same promenade where it turns a corner. Pebble beaches separated by wooden groynes go off into the centre distance. The sea is on the right. The waves are gentle, and the sea seams flat. The tide has just turned and is now coming in. The sky is overcast. Curving round to the left is the promenade. There are cafes, parks, sports grounds, and trees lining the promenade. Just in view are the fishing boats from the other photo.
It looks (and the walk is) so much nicer when it's not in blazing sunshine. #DownByTheSea
A bright day, looking across a pebble beach with wooden groyne down to the blue grey sea. Waves are rolling in. There are some clouds above the horizon. The sky is bright blue above them, and it has a yellow tone below them.
Beautiful day, #DownByTheSea
Walking on the promenade down by the seafront. To the top left are people on the path as it curves out past a building. In the foreground is the sea with small yachts having a sailing lesson (I think). On the beach are some people rod fishing. The beach is pebbles and grasses. The sky is lightly overcast but clearing to blue.
An overcast pebble and grass beach, with a small oar boat and containers on. The sun is visible through the clouds. On the horizon is a small yacht. It's much brighter than it looks here.
