Last Thursday was warm and sunny, so I visited the duck pond. The black swans were there, and I captured one of them swimming with male mallards.
The pond is a skating rink but the ducks are still diving. Egg season is right around the corner for the geese and I am hoping for better luck with goslings this year.

Keeping water open in winter takes some creativity. I use smaller ponds, dump ice daily, add black tubs to absorb sun heat, and keep water moving when possible.
