Voici une vue grand angle en plongée du concert en plein air donné le 4 juillet 2000 par la légende de la musique britannique, Sir Elton John, dans la cour d’honneur, devant l’imposant château de Mannheim, en Allemagne. Ce concert s’inscrivait dans le cadre de la tournée « The Medusa Tour - An Evening with Elton John Solo ». Le ciel est sombre et nuageux, signe d’une pluie récente. Le château de Mannheim est un long édifice à plusieurs étages, à la façade claire, percé de nombreuses fenêtres régulièrement espacées et traversé de galeries voûtées au rez-de-chaussée. La toiture, ornée de lucarnes, est recouverte de tuiles sombres. Son architecture est de style baroque. Devant le château, une foule immense est assise sur des milliers de chaises, disposées en rangées face à un espace central. Un tapis rouge vif part du château et mène à la scène. Celle-ci est complexe, avec ses structures noires, ses échafaudages, ses écrans et son matériel d’éclairage. Un grand écran diffuse en direct une vidéo d'Elton John jouant du piano. Seul Elton John est visible sur scène, accompagné d'un piano. Au-delà du château, un gratte-ciel moderne, avec ses grues de chantier, contraste avec l'architecture historique. La palette de couleurs est dominée par les tons sourds du ciel nuageux, le beige chaud du château, le vert de la pelouse et le rouge éclatant du tapis. La composition place le château en arrière-plan du concert, tandis que le public et la scène occupent le premier plan et le second plan. Le ciel dramatique confère à la scène une impression de gravité et d'attente.
