Very belated post...Had an amazing time presenting Carnegie Trust work w @kwolfe.bsky.social at #EUCAS2025 conference at Università di Pavia. Beautiful venue plus we were greeted with amazing risotto 🍽️
Learned alot about ageing research and made great connections, including folks from #SCAN!
Honoured to have been part of the organizing team at #EUCAS2025! I also presented a poster on our meta-analysis of age differences in Theory of Mind and gave a talk on age and cultural influences on spontaneous perspective taking. Grateful for the inspiring discussions!
We’re so happy with how #EUCAS2025 turned out — an incredible few days of science, exchange, and connection. Huge kudos to our whole organizing team: students, PhDs, Postdocs, and professors. Couldn’t have done it without everyone’s dedication!
We also had Prof. Elena Cavallini and postdoc @florkinal.bsky.social give talks at #EUCAS2025 — in the Social Cognition Symposium and the Social Cognition & Interaction session. A pleasure to contribute to the program in many ways!
Back home from the beautiful city of Pavia. Really enjoyed again this wonderful cognitive aging conference! Kudos to the organizing team, also for the junior social activity! (I promise I was more excited than on the picture!) #EUCAS2025
What a fantastic #EUCAS2025! Grateful to have hosted this year’s edition. Also thrilled to have shared 5 posters from our lab, with contributions from our MSc student, PhDs, and Postdocs @federicocurzel.bsky.social @florkinal.bsky.social! A great opportunity to share our work with the community!
And that’s a wrap on #EUCAS2025 at the University of Pavia! Four days of inspiring talks, new collaborations, and vibrant discussions. We’re incredibly grateful to all participants and keynote speakers, and proud of the outcome. See you next time in Belfast! ☺️
The final parallel sessions of #EUCAS2025 explored cognitive and perceptual changes in aging, complemented by a compelling symposium on taking a complex systems perspective on aging—closing with big-picture thinking and fresh approaches.
The first round of parallel sessions on Day 4 featured engaging talks on memory, training interventions and meta-cognition, along with a symposium on decision making. A rich morning of cognitive aging insights! #EUCAS2025
The final day of #EUCAS2025 began with keynote speaker Alan Gow on “Translating ‘Factors Associated with Brain Health’ to ‘Factors That Promote Brain Health’: From Observation to Intervention.” A motivating talk on turning insights into action for healthy cognitive aging.
We ended Day 3 of #EUCAS2025 with a wonderful social dinner at the beautiful Collegio Fratelli Cairoli. Great food, lively conversations, and a perfect setting to connect and unwind after a full day of science.
Enjoyed the #EUCAS2025 conference dinner tonight! Tomorrow Gerard Campbell and I present our research on young and older adults’ strategies in cognition, and Alan Gow gives his keynote address! 🙌🏼 @eucas2025.bsky.social
The afternoon continued with parallel sessions exploring individual differences in neural mechanisms and a compelling symposium on subjective views of aging—shedding light on how perception and brain function shape the aging experience. #EUCAS2025
This afternoon at #EUCAS2025, keynote Fabienne Collette presented “How Changes in Brain Activity May Help to Preserve Cognitive Performance During Healthy Aging.” Insightful findings on neural adaptability and resilience in aging brains.
The morning of Day 3 at #EUCAS2025 continued with rich parallel sessions on cognitive training, individual differences in cognition, and a symposium on pragmatics. A great mix of perspectives on cognitive aging!
Starting off Day 3 of #EUCAS2025 with a keynote by Michael Wagner on “Subjective Cognitive Decline in Aging and in Alzheimer’s Disease.” A fascinating look at how self-perceived memory issues can relate to early Alzheimer’s risk and the potential for early detection.
We wrapped up Day 2 with our junior social event—a fun scavenger hunt through the city that led us to a well-deserved, typical Italian aperitivo. Great science, great company, and even better spritzes! #EUCAS2025
The day continued with
engaging sessions on executive functioning and a symposium on social cognition, followed by a rich poster session showcasing diverse and innovative research. A strong finish to Day 2! #EUCAS2025
Day 2 of #EUCAS2025 kicked off with an inspiring keynote by Paolo Ghisletta on “Challenges and Opportunities of Psychological Aging Research.” A thought-provoking dive into the complexities—and promise—of aging studies.
#EUCAS2025 has kicked off at the University of Pavia!! 🙌🏼 @eucas2025.bsky.social
