A Monte Carlo-based methodology estimates national QKD backbone requirements across all EU Member States, using Austria as baseline: ~8,600 km routed fiber, 250 endpoints, 50 trusted repeater nodes, 750 QKD devices, with scaling rules derived from population and land area.
