There are three ways of transmission for infectious diseases: contact, droplets and airborne.

Transmission by contact occurs by direct physical contact with an infected person or by indirect contact with a contaminated surface. Some tips to avoid disease spreading are to avoid exposing yourself to others when feeling sick, clean your hands and prperly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. Common disease spreaded this way are gastroenteritis, skin infections and some respiratory infections.

Transmission by droplets occurs when droplets carrying an infectious agent reach the eyes, nose or mouth of a healthy person. Some tips are to use facial masks to limit the risk of transmission. Common disease spreaded this way are flu, main respiratory infections and meningitis.

Transmission by airborne occurs when air currents drive pathogens inside droplet nuclei or dust, these can spread further up to 15 kilometers. Some tips to avoid disease spreading are to use specific masks (FFP2/N95) and ventilate the room. Common disease spreaded this way are tuberculosis, chickenpox and measless.
