Oxbridge grads in DfT who think it would be a gee whizz idea to link the two universities by rail? Skipton-Colne, NPHRail, #ElyNorth even Ripon Harrogate all offering more business case credentials than East West Rail (where Aylesbury-MK already been ditched)
Colne Skipton has probably a better business case than East West Rail (cost/benefit analysis). #ElyNorth on cost/benefit analysis should be a no brainer but seemingly still being ignored
Nothing on rail freight where #ElyNorth project to aid movement to rail to/from Felixstowe is essential. Also need say London bus fares to raise to £2 for investment in Bakerloo extn etc. Rural lines like Tavistock, Tiverton, Rugby_lutterworth-Leicester and even slewing lines like thru Yeovil itself
and I believe the business case for East West Rail has been refused publication! #ElyNorth and Colne/Skipton are essential projects with a business case to match.
#ElyNorth essential, electrify gap to allow Birmingham Southampton freights to be electric all the way, reconnect Nottm-Melton Mowbray (Colwick-Cotgrave-Test Track) to reroute Liverpool -Norwich to create extra paths on ECML?

A bit harsh on #HS2 Population of UK increases and existing rail network no longer has the capacity to cope. Need #HS2 delivered in full, even up to Scotland. Need to move HGVs off the roads, support #ElyNorth

Need #HS2 delivered in full, but hope #ElyNorth hasn't been forgotten in the spending review. Cross Country needs a radical overhaul too. Reopen Nottm Melton Mowbray (new link from Colwick, Cotgrave) would allow extra paths on ECML by diverting Liverpool Norwich via Stamford.
Any insider news on the #ElyNorth scheme, we need to switch as much Felixstowe goods traffic to rail?
