Agree with concerns of @gerisoc.bsky.social re #EndOfLifeBill
Laughable that some politicians are saying that ‘one life lost is too many’ in reference to the #EndOfLifeBill yet the same politicians threw people’s lives away by voting against safeguards for the sake of the “the economy” in 2020 😒
As the House of Commons begins the Report Stage of the #EndOfLifeBill today, we are re-sharing this #Article where research assistant @francescasmancino.bsky.social reflects on #AssistedDying and why it should go hand-in-hand with better #PalliativeCare.

Grateful to @mariecurieuk.bsky.social for meeting me this week. I'm pleased to support Amendment 21 to the #EndOfLifeBill which would include reporting on palliative & end of life care. Palliative care & patient choice go hand in hand to ensure a holistic approach for people who are dying.
Professor Michael Dooley, the director of the Voluntary Assisted Dying pharmacy service in Victoria explains what Britain can learn from the Australian experience of assisted dying.

Well, what with #EndOfLifeBill on minds of many, this signage find is... err... well.. err...apt?!?!
Am beginning to wonder is East Anglia the home of curious signage?
Keep them coming!
Thankyou for your kind words. This #EndofLifeBill has brought up many discussions for the two of us. When it comes down to it regardless of my thoughts & feelings, I would have to accept whichever decision my Partner makes. I hate his suffering & not being able to do anything to help him #Cancer

There are great points on both sides but I am glad this bill has passed the second reading. It's time we listen to the people this bill would affect.

Assisted dying is going to be legalised in the UK.
I agree with the principle but I believe the 6 month period should be shortened.

And its passed #AssistedDying #EndOfLifeBill
Very, very glad the #EndofLifeBill has passed 2nd reading.

#EndOfLifeBill As #KimLeadbeater's measure would only have effect in England and Wales, why are Scottish and Northern Irish MPs being allowed to use up long minutes of the 2nd Reading debating time today?
Generally reasoned debate, then up pops Robert Jenrick who still manages to make it about foreign courts in Strasbourg.
#EndofLifeBill
Listening to the debate in parliament on the end of life Bill and I’m struck and grateful for the way the debate is held, the arguments being put forward and the personal stories being shared. #EndOfLifeBill
#EndOfLifeBill So many obtuse objections are being raised by opponents of the measure: slippery slope, coercion, inadequate time for discussion and more. These MPs should say frankly they are against patients getting help to have the death they choose. As with rejecting abortion, the rest is humbug.
Though he's regained much credibility since the nadir of his faith-based animus against gay people's relationships, #TimFarron is sounding almost unhinged in his opposition today to the #EndOfLifeBill. Like all the antis, he's raising a series of chimaeras specifically precluded by the Bill's terms.
#EndOfLifeBill For anyone unfamiliar with the curious ways of the Commons, this debate shows how unwise it is to allow interventions during the opening speeches, which are intended to frame what follows. Leadbeater's and Kruger's arguments have been disrupted by their colleagues' desire to be heard.
Not sure what MPs are worried about? Surely unworkable in practice? Diagnosis + 2 doctors (7 days apart) + High Court Judgement + 14 days cooling off + re-apply after all of this. To any MP listening - how does this work inside 6 months?
