Myth or Fact: Once you’re admitted, you have to stay in a hospital gown the whole time… think again. 😏👕
Join Terri Baumgartner, Registered Nurse in the Healthy Aging Program, as she shares how the #EndPJParalysis movement helps patients get up, get dressed, and get moving.
It's been a great #ActiveWards week, promoting our NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Active Ward Principles:

We spent the week raising awareness about preventing falls and helping everyone stay steady on their feet - at home, in hospital, and out in the community.

Another great morning on #EndPJParalysis global summit with discussions on #continence, #music and #fun - how these can prevent #deconditioning . Everything comes back to knowing what matters to the person, what motivates them to keep moving mentally & physically
Interesting point made tonight on #EndPJParalysis talk that familiar banter between staff can be interpreted by those witnessing it as incivility. In #carehomes, this makes me think about those living with #dementia and the impact of noisy staff banter...We need to read the room!
Great evening watching talks on incivility & psychologically informed healthcare at #EndPJParalysis global summit. Reflecting on how witnessing incivility, leads to people not expressing their needs fully & how psychological support is critical with long term conditions.
Good #community #connections are vital in maintaining wellbeing. Ensuring people are comfortable navigating their local networks. Keeping people active and reducing isolation. #EndPJParalysis
Thank you @briandolan.bsky.social for a great session on the power of #stories. Adapting our language to be empowering for all, not relying on what is easily measured at the expense of real experience. Admitting there can never be 'no risk' & being courageous & imaginative. #EndPJParalysis
Great start to the #EndPJParalysis global summit with inspiring discussion with @lucypgeridoc. Love the idea of sharing practice not always trying to reinvent the wheel! Also asking people 'what makes you smile?' when planning care with them!
Excited to join the #EndPJparalysis Global Summit throughout today! Looking forward to hearing examples of brilliant practice, change ideas and positive stories from everyone speaking on their experience of preventing deconditioning & promoting reconditioning! 💙💪🏼
Heads up to the #EndPJparalysis global summit coming up online this week - free to book, many, many great presentations over 2 days. Time to get moving , keep moving & encourage movement in all areas of health & social care!

Quite rightly, @scarlettmcnally.bsky.social notes the circular nature of the relationship between health care and social care, in the @bmj.com this month.
