#MtIndex is one of my favorite peaks in WA state and apparently it has an interesting history. The bottom two-thirds is granite and rose from the subcontinental lava directly beneath where it now sits. But the top third floated in from the Pacific Ocean over 143 million years ago! #EspressoChalet
