Etty Hillesum, born in 1914, was a Dutch-Jewish diarist & student in Amsterdam during WWII. She believed in humanity even in the most trying of circumstances. Hate only feeds hate, she repeated in her many journals, ultimately we are all equal and must treat each other as such.
