As part of Falls Awareness Week, the Falls Prevention team gave teaching sessions on the importance of taking lying and standing blood pressure, and several wards were awarded certificates to recognise their outstanding work in falls prevention.

Nicki, a sister in the Intensive Care Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, was presented with her long service award recently after 40 years of service for the NHS - all of it at MTW and 36 years in intensive care at Tunbridge Wells!

Taking lying and standing BP helps identify postural hypotension, a drop in blood pressure that can cause dizziness, unsteadiness and falls.
